But what are the differences here? And are these systems compatible with each other?
COMPATIBILITY
The designation SW03 only refers to the size of the quick coupler. An MS SW03 quick coupler is therefore a mechanical quick coupler with size 03. An HS SW08 quick coupler, on the other hand, is a hydraulic quick coupler with size 08.
Basically, the different systems are compatible with each other if they are the same size. This means that if you have an MS03 spoon, you can not only pick it up with your MS03 quick coupler, but also with your HS03 quick coupler.
However, if you have an MS08 spoon, you cannot use it with any of the quick couplers listed above, since you need an MS / HS08 quick coupler here.
The same applies to spoons with Symlock recording. A bucket with an SY03 adapter is compatible with an MS03 and an HS03 quick coupler. The suffix SY simply stands for attachment in both directions. The bucket has 2 locating pins and no "hole plate" for the locking pins to go through. Instead, thanks to a technically advanced design, both bolts of the mount were made in such a way that the bucket can be used as a deep and high bucket. The quick coupler size is crucial for compatibility here: For a SY08 adapter you need an MS08 or HS08 quick coupler.
SYMLOCK RECORD
The Symlock mount is particularly suitable for using a backhoe as a shovel. Because of the symmetrically arranged shafts, you can pick up and fasten your attachment tool in both directions. You can use it to "dig towards yourself", i.e. use the excavator shovel as a backhoe, or "shovel away", i.e. use the excavator shovel as a high shovel.

- Lehnhoff SY01 backhoe bucket for 1.0 to 1.9 tons
- Lehnhoff SY03 backhoe for 2.0 to 2.5 tons
- Lehnhoff SY03 backhoe bucket for 2.6 to 3.5 tons
- Lehnhoff SY03 backhoe bucket for 3.6 to 5.0 tons
- Lehnhoff SY03 backhoe for 5.1 to 6.0 tons
- Lehnhoff SY08 backhoe for 6.1 to 8.0 tons

MECHANICAL QUICK COUPLER
A mechanical Lehnhoff quick coupler is to be operated mechanically - by hand. To attach or remove an attachment, you must loosen or close the lock manually and with a socket wrench. The two locking bolts from the quick coupler are moved into the Lehnhoff mount on the bucket.
Examples are:
- Lehnhoff MS SW01 for 0.5 to 1.9 tons
- Lehnhoff MS SW03 for 2.0 to 6.0 tons
- Lehnhoff MS SW08 for 6.1 to 12 tons
HYDRAULIC QUICK COUPLER
The hydraulic quick coupler does not require getting out of the cab. Here the quick coupler is moved over the attachment tool and a button/switch is activated in the cabin, which automatically extends the locking bolts.
Important: with a hydraulic attachment (tilting bucket, hammer, etc.) you have to connect the hoses by hand. The hydraulic quick coupler attaches the attachment but does not connect it. A fully hydraulic quick coupler is then provided for this.
